Literacy – we’ve been learning about discussion and debating skills and how to listen carefully to other. The main character, Liam Digby, tells lies and we debated whether he should have or not!
Maths – we’ve been subtracting 3 digit numbers and decimals by using the expanded version and, if we were confident with that method, onto the compact version (vertical subtraction).
Topic – we’ve been learning all about how to keep safe online including how to create safe profiles, what makes us unhappy and happy online and cyberbullying/

LIteracy: writing descriptive poems of a dragon
Maths: Finding how much to the next multiple of 10 e.g. 26+?=30 if we know that 6+4=10 then we know that 26+4= 30. We have also carried on our work on fractions. w have been finding 1/2 and 1/4 of amounts. We have been finding a 1/4 by halving and halving again.
Topic: Completing our Eisteddfod entries, continuing our work on Van Gogh, using a word processing programme to type up our success criteria for a piece of work.
You can help at home by:
Literacy:learn your poem for the Eisteddfod. After half term, you will all have the opportunity to perform it to the class. Think about speaking clearly, loudly and with expression. You will all have come home with a copy of the poem this week but, if you have lost it, it is on last week's homework blog.
Maths: Please continue to learn your timestables and the flashcards which you all have at home. You need to be able to rapidly recall your timetables and the additions on the flashcards. Once you have achieved this, we will be starting with 3x table.
Topic: Try to type up the Eisteddfod poem which you are learning. You can use "Word'" or a children's word processing programme if you have one. Change the size, type , colour of the font. Underline the title. make sure you know how to type a capital letter. Challenge: Add in a picture.
Have a lovely half term,
